One Mom's Story: Emily and Baby Hannah
You may think that being a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) nurse would prepare you for anything--crying babies is part of the job. But even this line of work does not make you immune to the constant crying of a baby with colic--especially when that baby is yours. Such was the case for Emily. When Hannah was born, Emily says that she was a extremely calm child who hardly cried. But at the two week mark, this all changed. Emily states, ". . .she became extremely fussy and cried all the time, pulling her legs up to her tummy and just screaming. It was inconsolable. So I stopped breastfeeding since she got to the point where she didn't want to eat, it was hurting her tummy so badly. I switched from Enfamil supplement feedings to an "easy to digest" formula. That didn't help, so I changed formula again.....and again, to no avail." So, one day, after suffering two weeks of
constant crying, Emily turned to the internet for help. She Googled "colic" and up popped Colic Calm. When she received her first bottle, Emily administered a dose to Hannah after she ate. Hannah would give a big burp and feel better instantly. Emily continued to dose Hannah in this way until now, at 3 1/2 months, Hannah no longer needs it. Emily says, ". . .when I found Colic Calm, it truly helped her tummy feel better until we finally switched to her fifth formula type that agrees with her. Colic Calm really saved us from many screaming episodes." Are you a Colic Calm user and would like to share your story? Just let us know by leaving a comment below and we’ll be in touch!
