One Mom's Story: Ashley and Baby Kennady

First time mom Ashley is a NICU nurse, so she's seen a lot of babies in her day. As a result, she knew right away that her baby girl, Kennady was gassier than the average newborn. Kennady also hiccuped fairly frequently, and would cry--all signs were pointing towards colic. Ashley tried and tried to soothe her baby, but nothing seemed to help. As she says, "I am a NICU nurse, so I have been around a lot of babies. I knew right away that she was gassier then the average baby. She would scream and cry for long periods of time. She also would only stool about every other day.  I know all about the 5 S’s and I can swaddled with the best of them! None of that did much good. If it did help it did not last long." So, Ashley switched Kennady's formula to Gentlease. When that didn't seem to help, she decided it may be time to consult with Kennady's pediatrician.  He wanted Ashley to switch formulas again--this time to Nutramigen because it is geared towards colicky kids.
